A quicker version for drafts and portraits
Nano Banana 2 is tagged Fast and costs less than Pro. It draws at the same 1K or 2K and takes the same 8 reference photos, so you can run one prompt on both and compare. The sofa and the grandmother above are Nano Banana 2, made from words alone.
A still that can start moving
A Nano Banana picture also makes a good first frame. Every video scene in our catalogue began as a Nano Banana Pro picture, then MiniMax H3 animated it. Your own card can go the same way: bring it to life as a short clip with sound.
Five people, one table, no group photo needed
The trouble with family photos is that the family is never in one place. Grandma is in Jerusalem, your brother is in Melbourne, and the last picture of everyone together has a toddler in it who now drives. A photo card gets round that: add one photo of each person and describe the table they are all sitting at.
Six people fit in a picture here, and faces usually stay reliable up to four. For five, we lean on Nano Banana Pro. Give it photos where each face is visible and well lit - a squinting holiday shot from twenty metres away gives any model very little to go on. Then say where everyone is: Grandma in the middle, Dad standing behind her, the baby on your sister's lap.
Keep the action simple. One thing everyone does together - raising glasses, leaning in over a cake, squeezing onto a sofa - comes out better than five people each busy with something different. And end the prompt with "no text" if you do not want stray letters in the picture.
Auto picks Flare: where the other picture models fit
Auto does not pick Nano Banana. For pictures it uses GPT Image 2.5 Flare from OpenAI, tagged Best likeness, which returns a card in about 25 seconds here and costs less than Pro. With four people or fewer, try Flare first; bring in Nano Banana Pro for a table of five.
Lettering is a different job. For a line like "Happy 70th, Mum" on the card, pick GPT Image 2, tagged Sharp details: the example on its page has every letter in place, and a card takes about 80 seconds. Qwen Image 3 from Alibaba carries a Clean text tag, but it takes only three reference photos, so it suits smaller groups.
For loud colour - balloons, a bright tablecloth, a garden dinner that looks like a party - Seedream 5.0 Pro from ByteDance is tagged Rich colour. FLUX.2 Pro aims at photo realism, and Kling O3 is one of the cheapest picture models here, handy for a first try.
